Measurement on site
Trained personnel take the measurements using the devices in the case. The readings are transmitted to the platform in structured form.
MEDORIS brings the diagnostics to the patient and the doctor over the line. A mobile case with the necessary measuring devices, an encrypted connection to a general practitioner or specialist — wherever they may be — and a process that carries occupational health surveillance along with it. The medical service is provided by licensed physicians; the system makes them reachable.
The first gap lies in remote regions: at installations, settlements and workplaces where the nearest medical facility is hours away or does not exist at all. Those who work there have no choice if they fall ill — and those who wish to invest there struggle to find staff.
The second gap lies in the middle of industrialised countries: occupational health surveillance lacks medical capacity. According to the relevant medical association, the number of practising occupational physicians is set against a calculated requirement roughly three times as high. The gap is structural and cannot be closed quickly through training capacity.
Both gaps have the same cause: not a lack of knowledge, but a lack of presence. Diagnostic devices exist and are affordable, and the legal conditions for remote treatment are in place. What is missing is the connection between the place of measurement and the place of medical assessment.
The approach. The devices go to the person; the medical assessment comes over the line. Both are conducted in one process, from which a finding and, where required, a certificate emerge.
The following description sets out the task each module performs. The technical design — in particular the manner in which the devices are connected and their readings are unified — is not the subject of this description.
A wheeled transport case with the devices for a full initial examination and for occupational health surveillance. The equipment is modular and can be extended according to the field of use.
Operation without a physician present. The measurements are taken by trained personnel. Assessment of the readings, diagnosis and every decision on further steps remain reserved to the physician.

The physician opens the case file, sees the readings and conducts the consultation over an encrypted video connection.
The finding is recorded directly in the file. The medical documentation remains in the physician’s hands; the employer receives the certificate only.
In occupational health use the employer receives the certificate that surveillance has been carried out — not the finding. This separation follows from medical confidentiality and is not a setting but built into the process.
Field service, construction sites, branches, locations without occupational health cover. The case goes to where the employees are — the journey to the doctor is eliminated, and with it the most common reason why surveillance appointments lapse.
Installations and settlements in remote regions where the nearest medical facility is hours away or does not exist. One thing is generally present: a data connection. Through it the link is made to a general practitioner or a specialist — regardless of where they are based.
Where a site is being built as an integrated whole in any case, provision for the people belongs to it. A place at which people are expected to work must offer more than work; medical reachability is a component, not an addition.
Connection to the other systems. At sites built according to ARENOVA or CIRCULIS the data connection is part of the site concept. MEDORIS uses it and thereby becomes possible where a medical facility would never be established. To the platform overview
Which rules apply in an individual case depends on the country of use, the activity and the hazard. The particulars below relate to German law.
The regulation on occupational health surveillance with mandatory, offered and requested examinations; the Occupational Safety Act for the appointment of company physicians; the Occupational Health and Safety Act for risk assessment and instruction.
Advice or treatment exclusively through communication media is permissible where this is medically justifiable and the required medical diligence is maintained; the professional code of the competent medical association governs. Confidentiality is subject to criminal sanction and extends to assisting personnel.
Health data are subject to the heightened requirements of Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation; in the occupational health context paragraph 2(h) may apply. The Medical Devices Regulation and the operator regulations apply to the devices, and a ten-year retention period to the documentation.
Roles. The medical service is provided by cooperating licensed physicians on their own professional responsibility and free from instruction; the medical documentation remains with them. IMS New Technologies AG is the proprietor of the brand and the system and grants licences; it provides no medical service. Initiating and offering surveillance, the risk assessment, release from work and the bearing of costs remain employer obligations.

This description sets out MEDORIS at a functional level. The system architecture — in particular the manner of device connection, the unification of measurement data and the conformity concept for the case as a whole — is not the subject of this description. It constitutes protected know-how and the subject matter of intended applications for industrial property rights; disclosure takes place only upon conclusion of a confidentiality agreement and after the priority date has been secured.
The system software is to be classified as software with a medical purpose. A conformity assessment procedure under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices involving a notified body has not been completed. The provider currently places no medical device on the market; commencement of operations presupposes the completion of that procedure.
MEDORIS™ is a brand of IMS New Technologies AG. Its development goes back to an initial concept from 2009.

The provider is a consultancy and expert services company. It is not a healthcare institution, not a provider of medical services and not a body under the law on alternative practitioners; it does not practise medicine. Medical services are rendered exclusively by licensed physicians on their own professional responsibility. No legal services are provided.
The provider holds no separate VAT number. For services to businesses established in Germany the place of supply is at the recipient’s seat and the tax liability passes to the recipient under the reverse charge procedure. For services received from abroad, Swiss acquisition tax applies.
